10 Things at 10 Months

Another month has flown by! I can't believe it! We have been super busy, with stuff going on every weekend. Tonight, I got to stay home alone. Why?? Because I have been SO busy that Mom thought I needed a break. Since I'm still "breaking" I'm letting Mom take over the keyboard to tell you 10 great things about me!

1) Dagan has fabulous ear personality. You can usually tell how he is feeling by looking at his ears. He has happy ears, sad ears, silly ears, not feeling good ears and many more!

2) Dagan is such a trooper! He handles our outings with such grace and ease.

3) Dagan has a great ability to get everyone to fall in love with him. People meet him and just adore him. It's partly the ears :)

4) Dagan LOVES his people. If he sees one of "his" people when we are out and about, he gets SO excited! I kinda worry that, if he wiggles any harder, he will wiggle his butt off.

5) Dagan has fabulous obedience. If I ask, he will do. He may put his sad ears on while doing it (like when I tell him "go to bed" when he wants to be doing something) but, he will do it.

6) Dagan is trustworthy. He doesn't mess with things that aren't his (unless they are ear plugs - but that is another post!).

7) Dagan is just darn sweet. He has sweet personality.

8) Dagan is a people pleaser. He likes people to be happy with him.

9) Dagan is a drama queen! He seems to get his feelings hurt at the little thing. He seems to sulk when he doesn't get his way or the attention he wants. The ears sag, the head droops and he generally looks like someone ran over his best friend.

10) Dagan loves his Mama. Dagan chooses Mama over most anything. That makes a Mama feel good.

OK - enough of that Mom! You are telling my secrets!

Here's to another great month!

Everybody Needs a Hug

Sometimes, you are just feeling a little blue.
Dagan standing over a golden retriever who is totally ignoring him, looking at the camera with his sad faceSometimes it is cause your tummy hurts (as mine did last week) and sometimes, it is because no one will play with you.

Dagan standing (still over the golden, totally ignoring him) looking out for someone to give him some loveYou can look around and around for people to play with, but no one comes to your rescue. Then, you see someone that can turn things around. You stare at him until he comes over to make your day better.

K9 Water Bottle - You KNOW you want one!

Fun Day is coming! On July 31, 2010, my friends and I will be there selling our fabulous new K9 Water Bottles! They are made just for us dogs! The bottles are BPA Free, aluminum casing with a roller ball water spout that allows the water to be released (think Lix-it) made for dogs!

I starred in a video (it helps when Mom is the film producer/director/editor! Ha!) with my new favorite "watering hole" (my old favorite was ice cubes).

Also featured in the video is Miss Cabana and our friends Sparky, Lulu, Hestia and Shawna.

Here is a picture of the water bottles. (I am not adding an alt-tag to my pic on this one. A written description of the graphic will be at the end of my post).

Water bottles will be for sale starting July 31, 2010 at CA Fun Day! All orders places will be shipped after Fun Day. Bottles are $15.

Graphic description:
The design is a collage of words and a few graphics that wrap around the body of the bottle. The graphics are: a heart, a bone, a paw print, a sillouette of a standing golden, and one of a lab puppy sitting.Wrapped around the bottle at the top of the design is "Guide Dogs for the Blind." "Water" is written in Braille dots. The other words on the bottle are: friendship, obedience, socialization, future partner, Guides To Be, pride, hope, love, puppy breath, outings, loyalty, service, do your business, good manners, formal training and puppy raiser.

Vacation Recap: Lunch in Avila

OK - another post another picture of Cabana doing something I totally wish I could do! Cabana got to sit up on the bench with the people and watch the ocean. Not me. I had to sit on the sandy ground. sigh.

After our long walk on the pier, it was time to find someplace that would let Cabana and I come in (IE nothing with Cat in the name!) Dad went in and asked at this place by the water. Mom, Gram, Cabana and I waited outside while Dad made sure they would let us all sit on their patio. We waited and waited. And waited some more. Finally the hostess popped her head out the door and asked us what we were waiting for. Mom explained that Cabana was not a PIT. Hostess lady said who cares, bring them on through! So, we waltzed right through the restaurant and out onto the patio (Mom was expecting to go to the patio from the outside).

Cabana and I were pooped, so we hung out (when we weren't being loved on by the girls who worked there) while the people ate.

After lunch out, we headed back to the house to some romping on the deck until it was time for Cabana to go home. A good day.

Vacation Recap: Out with Cabana

OK, I'm starting to get a bit jealous! Cabana get to sit in chairs AND on the car seat?!?! And look at that smile on her face!

We drove over to Avila and wanted to go to lunch at a place with an outdoor patio. But, sadly, they said no dogs on the patio - not even ME! That's what you get from a place called Fat Cat's. Such a bummer!

So, before we found someplace to eat, we took a walk on the dock. It is a real working fisherman's dock. We were hoping that they would be cleaning their catches so pelicans would be all over the place. Bummer that they were not.
I got to walk with my dad, while Cabana walked with Mom and took pictures. I loved the scent of dead fish in the air - but I am a dog who appreciates a good carcass to roll in. Cabana, on the other paw, thought that the fish smell was a little strong.

The people asked us to sit in weird places and look cute (shocker with my people, huh??)
There were some cool seals on the docks out in the water, but there were fences around them, so they all looked caged. They weren't. They jumped up on the dock, squirmed through the door and into the fenced area. But, I don't want no stinkin' cages on my blog!

More vacation to come!

Vacation Recap: Cabana!

Even though I was way far away from home, my friend Cabana got to come over and play. Talk about commitment to a play date! We started off our day with some play time! We romped and rolled and played some tug. SO much fun! Hestia had to look on. She's just a baby, so she didn't get to play.

Cabana and Dagan wrestlingI must say, I want Cabana's "Go To Bed" place! When it was time to settle down, Mom put me on tie down and told Cabana to "Go To Bed." She didn't hesitate and jumped right up in "bed."

Cabana lying in the recliner with a big smile on her faceHow can I convince mom to let that be MY bed?!?!

Vacation Recap: Beach Time!

Wet Dagan looking up at the camera
I LOVE the beach!! SO much fun! I love the waves crashing over my feet! I love burying my nose in the sand! I love when the water comes in fast, hits us hard, shoots up Mom's pants and makes her scream! Hahaha!

I also had lots of fun running with Brian and Dad! Brian loved to get wet too! Dad tried to help Brian and I find some crabs, but all our holes kept filling up with water and making me leap into the air!

4 year old Brian holding John's hand at the water's edge with Dagan leaping in the airOnce that got boring, I decided that running was a good idea! So I would run to the end of my flexi leash, then dash back, zoom past Mom and all the way back to the end of my flexi. SO much fun! But, it was kinda tiring!

Dagan walking through the water
So, I decided to try to stand on my nose in the sand. It didn't work so well. That sand comes flying up your nose when you breath in. Yuck! It caused me to sputter, so I have up trying to stand on my nose. Oh well.
Dagan looking up at the camera with a snout full of sandI can't wait to go back!

4th of July

OK, here we go with my game of catch up! We woke up bright and early on the 4th and headed off to town for breakfast. I took a little snooze under the table. I was so good, Mom almost forgot me! Thankfully, Dad had my leash! Yeesh! Some people!

Then, it was off to the street to watch the parade!
I sat so patiently and waited for people to get settled around me. I must be crazy to post this next picture and actually admit that this guy was with me, but here goes...
Yup. That's my Papa. My eyes may never recover! My sanity certainly never will!

After the giant flag passed, we all settled in for the rest of the parade. It was great to watch! Lots of fire trucks, groups walking by and all sorts of fun.

I, of course, was a fabulous representative for GDB. I was so well behaved (FAR better behaved that the people in front of us!)

After the parade, we headed back to the house because Hestia was waiting at home in her crate (she's too little to go to the parade). It was ton of fun, but I needed a nap!

Discombobulated!

OK, I know that my vacation posts are quite discombobulated. When I have time on my paws, I get overly excited about something happening in the "now" and just post it. Like when Cabana got here today. I'm 4 1/2 hours away from home. How did she find me to come for a visit?!?! I was so excited that I just had to tell you about it!

It is also SO easy to get distracted on vacation! One minute I am relaxing, planning a blog post, then *bam* we are off to the beach! Or shopping! Or out for the people to eat! Then, when we get home, I have to eat and play and rest. Then, just as I am planning another blog post, it happens all over again!

I promise to make it all make sense! We are headed home tomorrow. Mom and Dad still have a couple days off work, so we are going to hang together and have some local fun. Can't wait!

Road Trip!!

Vacation started with many hours in the car. Ugh! Mom and Dad packed a crate - which is kinda off, cause I'm a big dog now! I don't use crates much!
Dagan sitting in the back of the SUV next to an empty crate

Not too far into our trip, we stopped to pick up this cutie:
Hestia lying on the floor asleep

Hestia is way sweet! Her family was going away on plane and she is too little to go. So, she's why the crate was coming!

After we loaded her up, it was time for the long drive. I hung out in the back next to the crate for a long time, but then I got tired of not being able to see where we were going. So, I climbed over all the luggage and settled in with a better view.
Dagan lying down on top of the luggage snuggled on Cassie's pillow, his eyes turned to the camera
It was great to see out the window and be near my two favorite peeps! Or - and a pillow always makes the ride better! Comfy!

Vacation Time!

Vacation! All I ever wanted! Vacation! I need to get away!

I'm all packed! Well, sort of! I would be packed if I had thumbs to work with. Dad hung out with me today and we started getting stuff ready. We ditched my kitty friends at the kennel and got the oil changed in the car. We did some laundry and watered the veggies.

Mom and Dad are working on packing. My friend Hestia is going with us. We pick her up bright and early tomorrow morning. Then, we are off! Yippy! Family! Friends (dog and human)! Beach! Parades! Touristy stuff! Fun! Can't wait!

I'll have great pics to post!
